How are snow clearing and gritting agreed?
A winter agreement starts with an overview of the areas that must be kept passable. Entrances, steps, footpaths, ramps, goods receiving and car parks may have different priorities. The agreement states which areas are included and whether the job covers snow clearing, salting, gritting or a combination. The surface also matters, because paving and planting need different care.
We agree access, a contact person and how special conditions are reported. Parked cars, locked gates or goods on walkways can affect the work. When winter work is part of a wider agreement, it is coordinated with the rest of our property services.
A winter plan makes responsibilities clear
The plan describes the agreed areas, their priority and who follows up on your side. It also covers prolonged snowfall, freezing rain and situations where a normal round is not enough. If an area changes during the winter, for example because of building work, the plan is updated.
Every call-out is logged. This makes it easy to check that the work matches the agreement and documents that you have met your responsibilities as property owner.
