A floor that looks new and is easier to keep clean
A polish treatment seals the surface and gives an even, smooth finish that not only looks good but is also more hygienic and easier to keep clean. Before treatment, the floor is deep-cleaned to remove dirt and old polish residue, so the new layer bonds properly.
- The floor looks glossy, with colours and patterns brought out
- The surface is more resistant to dirt
- Daily maintenance becomes easier and quicker
- The floor lasts longer between treatments
Which floors can be polish-treated?
We treat tiles, marble, terrazzo, linoleum, vinyl, asphalt, polished concrete, epoxy floors, slate and rubber, among others. Knowing the material is not enough, though. A floor may have a previous treatment, damage or a surface that requires another method, so we first examine the floor type, existing layers, wear and the manufacturer’s care instructions.
A test area shows whether deep cleaning removes old residue and whether the new polish bonds evenly. Deep scratches and damage to the floor itself are not repaired by polish. For oiled wooden floors, oil treatment is normally the right solution.
How does a polish treatment work?
First, we agree the area, access and moving of furniture. The floor is deep-cleaned to remove dirt, care products and old treatment, and once it is clean and dry, polish is applied in the agreed number of coats. Each coat needs time to dry, and the area is kept free of traffic while the treatment cures.
You will be told when the room can be used again and how the first clean should be done. A suitable routine in your daily cleaning keeps the surface in good condition for as long as possible.
Frequently asked questions about polish treatment
How long does a polish treatment last?
It depends on footfall and daily cleaning. With a suitable maintenance plan, a treatment can last a long time before new coats are needed.
Can we use the room the next day?
Yes, in most cases. We carry out the treatment in the evening or at the weekend so the floor is ready for use the next day.
Does polish remove scratches?
Polish evens out the surface, but deep scratches and damage to the floor itself must be repaired separately.
Which floors are not suitable for polish?
Oiled wooden floors should normally be oil-treated instead. We always assess the floor before recommending a treatment.
